Will of
Lee O. Abernathy
16 April 1895

In the name of God Amen. I L.O. Abernathy of the county of Lunenburg and state of Virginia being of sound mind and [ ] [ ] do make this my last will and testament revoking all wills previously made.
Item 1st It is my desire that all my just debts be paid as soon after my demise as they can conveniently be done.
Item 2d I devise to my wife E.A. Abernathy my entire estate and all my property of every description to have and hold during her natural life or widowhood after all my debts are paid.
Item 3 I [ ] in case my wife E.A. Abernathy should marry again to have or make a contract with her second husband that all the property she may have to belong to her after marriage and securing said property to my wife.
Item 4 I appoint my wife E.A. Abernathy my executrix to my will and testament and request that she be allowed to qualify without being required to gain security.
Item 5 I recommend to my family God to fear and to obay. Given under my hand and seal this 16th day of April 1895. L.O. Abernathy seal

In Lunenburg County Court April 8th 1901 the foregoing last will and testament of L.O. Abernathy decedent was this day proclaimed in court and proved by the oath of Jno. W. Wall one of the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded.
And on the motion of E.A. Abernathy the executrix named in said will who personally appeared in court made oath and in [ ] with acknowledged in open court a bond in the penalty of $1000. Conditioned to law (but without security the will directing this [ ] be required of her) which bond is ordered to be recorded. Certificate is granted to said executrix for obtaining probate of said will in due form.
