Robert Munford to Robert Abbernathy

This indenture made the Twelfth Day of November in the year of our Lord 1722. Between Robert Munford of Bristoll Parrish in Prince George County of the one part and Robert Abbernathy of the same Parrish and County of the other part Witnesseth that the said Robert Munford for and in consideration of five Shillings Current money to him in hand paid by the said Robert Abbernathy Whereof he doth hereby acknowledge the receipt, Hath bargained, Sold, and doth by these presents bargain and Sell unto the said Robert Abbernathy his Executors Administrators and assigns a parcel or Tract of Land containing by Estimation Twenty-five acres or thereabouts, be the same more or Less Lying and being in the Parrish and County above said, and bounded as followeth viz. beginning on the said Abbernathy’s line near his Cornfield at a Meadow Branch, thence down the said Branch to the Spring Branch, thence cross the said Spring branch to a point of Shrubb Oaks blased? Thence up a Small Branch to a lynn Blased? in the said Abbernathy’s line, being the Dividing Line of the Land whereon the said Abbernathy now Lives, and the East Line of the said Munford’s Land on the horsepen branch of Sappone Creek. To Have and to Hold the said Land and Premises with the appurtenances unto the said Robert Abbernathy his Executors, Admts and Assigns from the day next before the Date hereof, for and During the Term of one whole year from thence next ensuing And fully to be Compleat and ended and it is hereby Declared that these presents are so made and accepted that thereby and by Virtue and force of the Statute made in the Seven & Twentyeth year of the reign of King Henry the Eight for the Transferring Uses into possession, he the said Robert Abbernathy may be enabled to take a grant and Release to Execute the Estate of the aforesaid Premises in? him the said Robert Abbernathy his heirs and Assigns forever. In Witness whereof the said Robert Munford hath heeto put his hand and Affixed his Seal the day and year above. __

At a Court held at Merchants hope for Prince George County on the Second Tuesday in June, being the Ninth Day of the said month Anno Dom – 1724 – The above written Deed of Lease of Land (Seald) was in Open Court acknowledged by Robert Munford Gent the Subscriber thereto, to be his Act and Deed to Ro Robert Abbernathy named therein, on whose motion the said Deed by Order of the Court is truly Recorded. This indenture made the thirteenth day of November in the year of our Lord 1722. Between Robert Munford of Bristoll Parrish in Prince George County of the one part and Robert Abbernathy of the same Parrish and County of the other part Witnesseth, that the said Robert Munford by indenture bearing Date the day before the Date of these presents for the consideration therein Expressed hath bargained and Sold unto the said Robert Abbernathy one parcell or Tract of Land lying and being in the Parrish and County above said, containing Twenty-five acres more or Less, and bounded as by the said Indenture is mentioned, to be held with the appurtenances by the said Robert Abbernathy his Executors, Admts and Assigns from the day next before the __ of the said rented Indenture for and During the Term of one whole year from thence next and using and fully to be compleat and ended, to the Intent that by Virtue and force of the Statute made in the Seven and Twentyeth year of the Reign of King Henry the Eighth for the Transferring uses into possession he the said Robert Abbernathy may be Enabled to take a grant & Release to Execute the Estate of the Reversion in him and his heirs, to the uses of him and his heirs forever, as by the said rented Indenture more at Large appears ___eth. Now this Indenture Showeth that the said Robert Munford for and in consideration of the sum of one thousand pounds weight of pork to him in hand paid by the said Robert Abbernathy, whereof he doth hereby acknowledge the receipt, hath Revised, Released and Confirmed, and doth by these presents Revise, Release and Confirm unto the said Robert Abbernathy (in his actuall possession now being by Virtue of the said rented Indenture of Bargain and Sale made to him of a year and of the said Statue) and to his heirs and Assigns the aforesaid Premises with the appurtenances, and all the Estate, right, Title and Interest of the said Robert Munford of in and to the same and every part or parcell thereof. To Have & to Hold the said Land and Premises with the appurtenances unto the said Robert Abbernathy his heirs and Assigns forever and also I the said Robert Munford, the said parcell of Land, and other the premises with the appurtenances to the said Robert Abbernathy his heirs and Assigns against all persons whatsoever will warrant by these presents. In Witness whereof the said Robert Munford hath put his hand and Affixed his Seal the day and year above written. ­­­___
